For USPS customers, we recommend reaching out to your local post master or post people and letting them know you’re about to receive a lot of temperature sensitive mushroom blocks. Our farmers that pick them up from the post office have the best success! Some of our farmers even get the post office to share temperature data with them. 

Mushroom blocks are resilient living organisms and can take a beating and recover quickly if massaged together and placed in a 70 degree Fahrenheit room. 

However, high temperatures and long rides in trucks/vans with no AC are very hard on mushrooms. So we lower the blocks temp as low as we can and let the blocks thaw as they ship. If you have issues we replace, as these are temperature sensitive living organisms it's best store all species, save pink oyster, as close to freezing as possible on arrival after inspection if you do not intend to use them immediately.

Please, look at the map above and choose shipping location based on your location if upgrading to boxes and going with FedEx/UPS. MT, WY, CO, TX, OK, KS, NE, SD, ND, MN, IA, MO, AR, LA, WI, MS, IL, & NM are middle states. If you are not in one of these states please pick whichever coast is closer to you. 

If you choose the incorrect zone for FedEx you will automatically be changed to USPS and refunded for the difference.

If you are a free spirit living in Alaska or Hawaii we only use USPS or freight. 

HERE'S THE DEAL: The experts here at Hernshaw Farms will send you a ready-to-grow blocks made from local sawdust, grain, soybean hull, and love from inside West Virginia’s Historic Memorial Tunnel. These blocks will produce 1-3 lbs of fresh mushrooms over a period of 3 flushes.

 If you’d like to order over 200 we can give you a better price because we can ship via freight cost effectively. Generally it’s easier for everyone.  If you're just getting started we recommend going this route after some practice and building a budget walk in using an AC and a cool bot to store blocks. We can give you the best price this way, ensure your shipment arrives alive, and it’s easy to time your harvest by just pulling ready blocks out of the fridge. Our website offers financing options too that way you can spread the payments across your cash flow.
